Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about washing your car without water — from mixing your first bottle to shipping and our 30-day guarantee.

How It Works

How does a waterless car wash actually work?

SnowShine Concentrate mixes with a small amount of water to create a rich, lubricating foam. Sprayed onto a panel, the pH-neutral NanoShield formula surrounds each particle of dirt and lifts it off the surface, so a microfiber towel glides over the paint instead of dragging grit across it. You spray, you wipe, you're done — a full car takes about 15 minutes with no hose, bucket, or runoff.

How do I wash my car with the SnowShine kit?
  1. Mix. Fill the eFoam Sprayer with 40 oz of water and add 5 caps of SnowShine Concentrate. Close the lid tightly and shake.
  2. Work one panel at a time. Start at the roof and move down — hood, doors, trunk, then bumpers and lower panels last (they're dirtiest).
  3. Spray. Apply a thin, even layer of foam and let it sit 15–20 seconds so it can lift the dirt. Don't let it dry.
  4. Wipe. Fold a microfiber towel into quarters and wipe in straight lines with light pressure. Flip to a clean side after every pass.
  5. Buff. Follow with a dry, clean microfiber to remove any haze and bring out the shine.

Work in the shade when you can, and use a separate towel for wheels and lower panels.

How many washes do I get per bottle?

A bottle of SnowShine Concentrate delivers 25+ washes, and the 2X Concentrate delivers 50+. That works out to about $1 per wash. Larger vehicles and heavier dirt use a little more foam, so your exact count will vary.

Which kit is right for me?

Signature Set — the essentials for one car: eFoam Sprayer, Concentrate, and premium microfiber towels.

Signature Plus+ — built for SUVs, trucks, or a two-car household. Includes the 2X Concentrate (50+ washes) and double the towels.

Supreme Set — the complete inside-and-out system: everything in Plus+, plus Crystal Glass Cleaner, Interior Frost, 18 microfiber towels, and 3 air fresheners.

Will it remove mud, bird droppings, bugs, and road film?

Yes. The formula breaks down dust, pollen, road film, light mud, bug splatter, and bird droppings. For stubborn spots, apply extra foam, give it 30–60 seconds to work, then wipe — never scrub dry. If a car is caked in heavy mud or sand, knock off the loose material first so you aren't dragging it across the paint.

SnowShine cleans; it doesn't repair. Existing scratches, etched water spots, and baked-on tree sap won't disappear with a wash.

Does it leave a shine or any protection behind?

You'll get a glossy, streak-free finish every time. SnowShine is formulated to work with the wax, sealant, or ceramic coating already on your car rather than strip it, so your existing protection stays put. It isn't a replacement for a dedicated wax or coating.

Paint & Safety

Won't wiping dirt off scratch my paint?

This is the question we get most, and it's a fair one. Scratches happen when dry grit is dragged across paint. SnowShine prevents that in three ways: the foam's lubricants surround dirt so it floats off instead of grinding; the wait time lets the formula loosen it before you touch the panel; and the plush microfiber pulls the dirt up into its fibers rather than pushing it along. Used as directed — thin layer, short dwell, straight-line wipes, clean towel side per pass — it is gentler on paint than an automatic wash with spinning brushes.

Is it safe on ceramic coatings, PPF, vinyl wraps, and matte paint?

Yes. SnowShine is pH neutral (7) with no harsh solvents, so it's safe on ceramic coatings, paint protection film, vinyl wraps, and clear coat. Most coatings tolerate a pH of up to 12; SnowShine doesn't come close. It's also suitable for matte and satin finishes — as with any product on specialty paint, test a small hidden area first.

Can I use it on glass, chrome, plastic trim, and wheels?

Yes — it's safe on every exterior surface, including glass, chrome, black trim, headlights, and wheels. For a perfectly streak-free windshield we recommend Crystal Glass Cleaner. Always use a separate towel for wheels and the lower third of the car so brake dust never touches your paint.

Can I wash in direct sun or on a hot day?

Shade is best. On a hot panel the foam can dry before you wipe, which leaves streaks. If you have to wash in the sun, work in smaller sections, wipe right away, and keep a damp microfiber handy to re-wet any spots that dry. SnowShine works great in cold weather and indoor garages where a hose isn't an option.

Is SnowShine safe for me and the environment?

Yes. The formula is pH neutral and free of harsh solvents, so it's gentle on skin and safe to use in an enclosed garage or parking structure. Each wash uses about 40 oz of water instead of the 50+ gallons a driveway wash uses — and there's no dirty runoff into storm drains.

Sprayer & Care

How does the eFoam Sprayer work?

The eFoam Sprayer is rechargeable and fully automatic — no pumping. Charge it before first use, fill with your SnowShine mix, and press the trigger for a consistent layer of foam across the whole car. After each wash, empty any leftover mix and give the nozzle a quick rinse with clean water to keep it spraying evenly.

My sprayer isn't foaming or won't charge. What should I do?

Quick checks first: make sure the unit is fully charged, the lid is screwed on tight (a loose seal kills foam), and the nozzle isn't clogged — soak it in warm water and run clean water through. Thin, watery spray usually means the mix needs another cap of Concentrate.

If it still isn't working, email support@snow-shine.com with your order number. The eFoam Sprayer is covered by our 1-year replacement policy, and we'll get you sorted out quickly.

How do I care for the microfiber towels?

Wash them after every use so trapped dirt doesn't end up back on your paint. Machine wash warm (70–100°F) with a small amount of mild detergent, separately from cotton (lint clogs the fibers). Skip fabric softener and bleach — they coat the fibers and ruin absorbency. Hang dry or tumble on low. Cared for this way, they'll last for years.

How do I use Interior Frost and Crystal Glass Cleaner?

Interior Frost — spray lightly onto a microfiber (not directly onto screens or electronics), wipe dashboards, door panels, and trim, then buff with the dry side for a clean, non-greasy finish.

Crystal Glass Cleaner — mist onto the glass or towel, wipe in one direction, then flip to a dry side and buff in the opposite direction to eliminate streaks. Safe on tinted windows.
